Enhancement

Two new settings have been introduced to improve revenue management for split loads:

1- Setting “Automatically Create Split Load Revenue”

When enabled, revenue is automatically calculated against each split upon load completion. Any updates to dispatch info, primary fee, or fee type will also trigger automatic recalculation of split revenues.

2- Setting “Allocate Based on Brokerage First and Then Mileage”

When enabled, the allocation follows a two-step process:

Brokered Splits Allocation: The system assigns Carrier Pay (Linehaul + Additional Pay) as revenue directly to each brokered split.

Dispatch Splits Allocation: The total brokered allocation is deducted from the overall load revenue. The leftover revenue is then distributed across dispatched splits using a per-mile rate formula.

Calculation Example

Suppose a load has 4 splits with a Total Load Revenue: $6,000.

Split

Route

Miles

(Linehaul+ Additional Pay)

Split 1 (Dispatched)

Los Angeles, CA → Phoenix, AZ

200

$ — (no carrier pay)

Split 2 (Brokered)

Phoenix, AZ → Albuquerque, NM

420

$1500

Split 3 (Dispatched)

Albuquerque, NM → Amarillo, TX

540

$ — (no carrier pay

Split 4 (Brokered)

Amarillo, TX → Dallas, TX

360

$900

Total

1,520

$2,400 (sum carrier pay)

Step 1 – Brokered Allocation (Linehaul + Additional Pay)

  • Split 2(Brokered) Revenue = $1,500 (Linehaul+ Additional pay)

  • Split 4(Brokered) Revenue = $900 (Linehaul+ Additional pay)

  • Total brokered allocation = $2,400

Step 2 — Leftover revenue for dispatched splits:

  • Leftover = Total revenue − Brokered allocation = $6,000 − $2,400 = $3,600

Step 3 — Dispatched miles & per-mile rate:

  • Total Dispatched miles = Split 1 (200) + Split 3 (540) = 740 miles

  • Rate per mile = Leftover ÷ total Dispatched miles = $3,600 ÷ 740 = $4.86

Step 4 — Allocate the leftover to dispatched splits by mileage:

  • Split 1 revenue = Split 1 Miles x rate per mile = 200 × $4.8649 = $973

  • Split 3 revenue = Split 3 Miles x rate per mile = 540 × $4.8649 = $2,627

Final Allocation

Split

Type

Revenue Assigned

1

Dispatched

$973

2

Brokered

$1,500

3

Dispatched

$2,627

4

Brokered

$900

Total

$6,000

Total Revenue assigned to each split will reconcile with the total load revenue, i.e.

$973 + $1,500 + $2,627 + $9000 = $6000.

This ensures brokered splits always receive their Carrier Pay (Linehaul + Additional Pay), while the remaining revenue is fairly distributed to dispatched splits based on mileage.
